I'm taking a ride over to the park whether the meet's on or off. If nobody else is there, I'll get some bbq at Sweet Lucy's down the street. If the meet's on, I'm still bringing this chicken before it turns blue.
earlier today I read a post on the other forum with pics of a DM exhaust manifold so then I also realized what you meant. It looks like nice stuff. The exhaust manifold I saw looked very well constructed/welded and made from sch 10 stainless pipe.
Yes your link is for the cams I mentioned...
I have no idea what the DM intake manifold is. Otherwise, the GSC cams are very highly rated. I chose my S1's over the HKS but you can't go wrong with HKS either. The GSC's have a tad more lift and a more aggressive profile.
To increase flow you could go with more aggressive cams than stock. I just got GSC S1's but haven't even buttoned up and started the motor yet, but I have high expectations from them. Also you can port the head and get maybe 20% flow improvement; this thread has very good comparative data on...
If you want sequentials and a "stealth" look virtually same as stock, and are OK with high 400whp range on 93 pump and close to 600whp on racegas, that's a nice setup. Like you said, they're also nearby to you and highly noted for excellent customer service so that's all pluses. You could even...
The HKS, Greddy, Blitz aftermarket twin setups are all parallel, not sequential. Not to say they're "bad" just not sequential.
The recent development and availability of these might interest you since they can be run sequential and make 450whp on 93 oct @ 18 psi and they're getting right to...
I half expected to see some of you guys when I drove over to that riverside park area this past Sunday since my kid wanted to take a cruise...not in the Supra, that's still under the knife, due to parts delivery delays, not fabrication related. It still seems like it'll be done and tuned before...
As far as hooking on the street, I found that the Toyo RA-1 is a way better "street tire" than the Victoracers. My experience with Victoracers is that they heat cycle and harden way too quickly from daily use while the RA-1's have about comparable traction and last a long time relative to other...
Just because it has been done, which it has, does not mean that's the reliable, conservative design, smart way to build it. I can't imagine there is anybody knowledgeable about this who would disagree with that.
I would say "custom", and also experimental since if it flops I'll put my current setup back on....I don't expect it to flop, I think I'll really love this setup since it has the look of the twins that I like so much and with the smaller turbos the response should be very good. A few months ago...
Thanks for waking me up. We...aka my family...are almost always around that weekend so I'm in. My "project" on my MkIV should be done by then. I went from stock twins to a single and now I'm going back to twins again...what goes around comes around which might be why my head's spinning out of...
Even if I was in one of our other cars, if I saw any kind of Supra broken down I'd stop if the owner was in sight, but not if it was just the car sitting there. Now I've been driving in the N.E. for over 40 years and I've never seen a broken down Supra on the road....attests to the reliability...
thanks for the info...but I would be interested in much wider wheels for track day use...like 9-1/2" or 10" fronts and 10-1/2" or 11" rears.
But good luck finding a deal that works for you.
what do you plan to do with the turbos? do you have a manifold to fit them on that fits your engine? The stock CT12 turbos have an odd flange so unless you have something made up custom I don't see how you could fit it.
I don't see it as an interesting, viable option but that doesn't mean...
It's a good price for low milage great condition stock twins.
But the exhaust manifold won't match up to the 1JZ head...the exhaust port pattern is not the same as the 2JZ.
