why bother going bigger than 264's?

the Group A Supra had quote "Camshafts were of 288 degree duration" and that's for a race prepped Supra still using an apparent CT26. http://www.turbosupras.com/pages/en/pages/specifications/MA70GA/ma70ga.htm They must've known what they were doing??

    cressida diff??

LOL... You are a comedian.. that's the first time i've heard of a good analogy to a car that doesn't have LSD. Also like said I doubt they'd put a higher-performance part in a family car.

    Supercharger on a 7M

Should be awesome... will make it with very minimal lag for a monster turbo if done properly. Just look at the Delta Integrale 1.8litre twincharged monster.

    7M-GTE Engine Response

That Video reminds me of one with the Mazda 787B the Le Mans 24Hr monster... its a rotary for starters and they are known to be very rev snappy.. but it comes at a price of Torque? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Go3Fgd1wgic Check that clip of the 787B Quad Rotor... crowd goes nuts...

    10psi with no mods?

Exhaust would have to be the most restrictive.... On a dyno my GT Limited with 10psi only drpped to 9.6 (with an MBC, 3'' Turbo back exhaust, K&N Filter, FCD, Highflowed CT26) where as my cousins R31 GTS-X which is a RB20DET with 13psi boost would fall down to something ridiculous like 8psi...

Best way to pressure test an intercooler

Hi Guys, I've got an intercooler i'm eager to get put on, but as with all things I'd like to make sure that what i'm putting on hasn't got any air leaks. I've looked around people recommend using Water with a die colour to check for any leaks, but naturally I'd think its different to the...

    is it just me or...

Best statement ever.. The oil filter is the easiest thing I removed... much like Poodles said. With the right clamp tool from underneath wedged it in and twisted and then with my arm... no more than 5minutes? including jacking it up on one side... and getting under and undoing it. Nothing...

Diesel Engines and Compression in relation to a Petrol Engine (say.. 7MGTE)

Hey every1... Don't know how or why but I started looking up the history of engines, I was first interested in when the first supercharger / turbocharger was invented... but then found myself reading about the diesel engine.... now given that engine works off massive compression... as there...

    1969 Moon Landing

It was fake. Reason i say that is, besides all the evidence against it being real, it was in a time when people weren't aware of technology, things weren't meant to be so clear.... didn't have no 12MP digital cmera's back then, or HD 1080i or internet, or Core 2 Duo's or none of that.... its...

Still filling your tires with air?

My neighbor uses it on his new Citroen he just bought and he uses it because of the fact that the Nitrogen doesn't expand under heat as normally filling your tyres with Air does.

Is my mechanic not turbo smart?

OMFG I found out what the problem was....:icon_evil 1 of the turbo flange bolts wasn't on the bottom from the side closer to the wheel... I then looked straight down where the engine mounts are and I saw the nut down in there coated in oil. I then saw on my spare CT26 took one of the nuts which...

Is my mechanic not turbo smart?

I will be definitely now. Yeah, thanks for the replies guys, i'll take off the pod / intake pipes leading to the turbo today or so and i'll feel for shaft play. Then i'll just get a mate of mine and step by step disconnect it. Because from reading on this forum here and there when people...

Is my mechanic not turbo smart?

Hi all, I have a bit of a dilemma, I posted probably 3weeks back or so about how i'd go about replacing the gasket that sits under the turbo for the feed / return oil hard pipes and then I finally got around to going to my mechanic and seeing what he had to say about it. His imediate...

Need help with a small question about Redline

I don't know where you read this... I've got a 88/8 JDM GT Limited, which is when Series 2 started (the apparent 89+ is really 8/88+) and anyway its redline is 6500... and with my highflowed CT26 at 10psi im making peak HP @ 6300rpm. As for why it was lowered on some... there was something...
