Give me reasons to keep the supra.

a stock SN 95 cobra 5.0 makes 240 hp and 280 ftlbs and does a mid to high 14 in the quarter mile. making its acceleration comparable with a stock MK3. have you ever driven a SN95? I did not drive a cobra, but the GT I drove was an embarrassment and it was pretty much brand new. The supra is...

Give me reasons to keep the supra.

just take a break, and enjoy other things. I took a 5 year hiatus from working on cars all together. that was after over 10 years of wrenching as a hobby. now that I am back I find myself going to the garage to get something done on the supra on the regular. and working on the car is...

clean swap wiring and engine bay ideas?

thanks for the info. as it turns out I decided not to do the wiring tuck yet. i figured I will need to work on this bucket too much and would hate to always go digging for that stuff, not to mention my fender lining looks haggard. once I get my break up fixed and take the standalone plunge...

someone should close this guy down...

i can't believe anyone was stupid enough to respond to that idiot. everyone has an opinion, but this guy obviously is ignorant so why even engage him? it just makes all of us look unsophisticated, and i know that is not the case for many of us.

    Post your Pre-89 bumper thread

here is mine. carbon fiber FX front lip. I might make a mold so I can make another one since sadly I believe duane is no longer producing these? One day I will get around to painting my car, but I plan on putting it through its paces and learning drifting and doing some track days.

    3.4L V-6 swap?

I agree. The 3.4 is a great motor but with all the effort you could have 2j.

    Need help!

I think based on your info getting a map sensor is also wise. Here is how I calibrated my tps after confirming it worked as per tsrm. At least you have codes to go after now, always nice to get some solid info out of a car. FWIW I drove about an hour to test my ecu. After spending ~16 hours...

    Need help!

I would try your ecu in a known good car. When I grounded out my alternator I damaged my ecu, and my fuel map was all over the place as well. Good luck!

I need quicker spool (1JZ) Ideas??

From sp directly. QSV FAQ: What is the Quick Spool Valve? The QSV essentially creates a variable turbine housing A/R size by blocking off one side of a divided turbine housing before boost pressure opens the butterfly valve to allow the full size of the housing's A/R. This increases...

    Noob wanting a Supra!

MKIII had the 7m. MKIV had the 2jz. they both have their reputations. As for bodystyle there were very minimal changes in the MKIII pre 89 and post 89. tail lights being the biggest difference. the MKIV was pretty much unchanged from 93-98. I like the MKIII body lines by far the best...
