yup i ended up getting such a good deal on the turbo it ended up being cheaper to buy the .91 divded housing with the 3" v band welded on then getting the entire turbo and housing through boost lab....
id get the gt30 for your goals. the s360 will be laggier and is capable of much more power than you are after. Id recommend using 550s. are you planing on running the stock ECU?
I have a very old (7 or so years) china manifold. It is divided. With the .91 divided turbine housing, 272s, and a rich SAFC II tune I hit max boost around 4500 on my 1j. I would not want anything laggier than that. But I figure once I go AEM next year I will pick up some spool hopefully.
if it is that rusty under the tail light housing then it will probably be rusted out pretty bad in the spare tire well, and other areas. looks like a parts car to me.
It depends what you want. For a fun beater with potential a cheap car like that is great. If you want a nice mk3 it is cheaper to buy one that build it imho. Many restoration parts are no longer avaliable from toyota, and what is avaliable is expensive.
Here is one that has low miles, looks to be pretty damn nice, and is sellng at no reserve. $4700 with 2 days to go. I think thats pretty strong money for an auto with a burgandy interior...
+1 to a 1jz or 2jz VVti swap. it is just a better investmnt in the long run when it comes time to sell the car and try to recoup some of your money. a MK3 with a 1/2 JZ is always going to be worth alot more than a MK3 with a 7m no matter how much coin you drop on the 7m.
