Just to add to Bishop's post I've used copper spray many times over the years without a problem.
I guess if you use a full can on one gasket it might squeeze out into the water jacket.....

I did this with a 2 litre Astron I built for the balance shafts just had to plug the oil holes.

You seal a piece of perspex to the head over the combustion chamber with a small hole in the middle then fill it from a graduated container to find out how much it holds.
7m's I believe are 40cc chambers.

Just had a look through the TRSM as I'm not familier with the GTE Pull clutch and nothing really stands out as a simple fix.
You didn't leave the auto crank spacer between the flywheel and crank did you?
I just reread the whole thread and as no one has mentioned it if the Step on the FW is out of spec that could cause it to not go into gear.
Another thing to check would be the pushrod in the slave cylinder.
I remember back on the old Forum DrJ (I think) posted about a batch of aftermarket Flywheels that had been machined to the wrong specs....
Don't take this as gospel though I'm old and forgetful so it could be dud info.

If I get time during the week I'll chuck it in the beadblaster and take a few more pics.
I tend to be conservative with port work as it's easy to remove material but a pain in the arse to put it back!
