    On a more practical note you might find a 10mm shim in the pump will go close to coil binding it or reduce it's travel enough to give you uncontrolled pressure spikes.

    Might just be something simple like it's running downhill Emp. Grab a can of degreaser apply then hose it off so it's all clean then watch it over the next few days and try the find it's source.

    The big hose that goes from the Cam box to the block is prone to splitting maybe it's from there?

    So you actually need a 2.5mm lash cap! Maybe one of the older Toyota motors used em. Seems like another layer of potential error/failure Will. Good luck with it! <fingers crossed it works well for you>

    You might want to look at either Shim Under Buckets or Shimless buckets as I believe 7M's tend to spit shims at high revs/hi lift. :(
