On a more practical note you might find a 10mm shim in the pump will go close to coil binding it or reduce it's travel enough to give you uncontrolled pressure spikes.
Might just be something simple like it's running downhill Emp.
Grab a can of degreaser apply then hose it off so it's all clean then watch it over the next few days and try the find it's source.
So you actually need a 2.5mm lash cap!
Maybe one of the older Toyota motors used em.

When I paint at home I wet the floor down then blow everything off with the air hose so the water holds any dust, works well for me and I'm lazy ;)
