Steve: I'd be going nuts with the silicone and sealing all of the gaps on the leading edges of the plastics ;)!

    7m revability discussion

ROFLMAO this cracked me up cos I've followed a few of these threads on SF! I can't remember seeing a thread where a 7M has let go from being over revved! If it floats a valve it stops making power until the revs drop enough to regain valve control (Non interference design) Most blowups...

    7m revability discussion

LOL it's early here I'm just surfing around a bit before I go out to work on the Supra :)! (I knew it was someone that knew what they were talking about that mentioned the BMW) I think maybe due to the built in rev limiter and the shim over bucket design not too many people have explored the...

    What is this light?!

Taillight bulb warning. Can either be a blow bulb or water in the box.

    7m revability discussion

Wayne: Guess it all comes down to piston speed. I think where the misconception with the 7M started is it's a long stroke motor so conventional thinking is it can't rev but there are quite a few motors with longer stroke that happily rev higher than our stock redline. We have a very small...

    Lifter Tick...Tranny fluid trick safe?

AJ: ATF has a shitload of detergent per litre, as I said I run 1 litre of it a few days before a change and just drive normally. It breaks down the varnish/deposits in the motor but as I said it will clog the filter and make it bypass if you leave it in too long! (Wouldn't leave it in more...

    Lifter Tick...Tranny fluid trick safe?

PSI: I always put 1 litre of Trans Oil in a few days before the oil change as it's so high in detergent it really does a good job but will clog the filter so it's important not to drive it too long after!

Hard to start when warm - ideas?

Grim: The way our cars are setup is the pump requires an Ign Signal before the pump will run. My "Theory" with hard hot starts is the fuel in the rail boils when you shut the motor down expands enough to return to the tank then when you go to restart you end up cranking enough to get a signal...

How hard are you planning to rev it Will?

That's about what I paid in AUD for my welded cams Will. (seems a bit expensive in USD)

Will: The "lobe center" thing is a little incorrect. Lobe center is a measurement between the intake and exhaust lobes. You're not thinking of "Lobe Centerline" are you?

Does anybody run aftermarket ignition box with stock coils???

Good post Chris! :) The MSD Dis Coils are wound for 400v primary and while they do fire after bypassing the CDI they're lethargic and would be Limp mode only with 12v in.

Does anybody run aftermarket ignition box with stock coils???

I'm using a set of MSD Dis Coils with the Dis4's. MSD do a twin post motorcycle coil and had suggested it for the Dis4 if I was going to btch/waste fire them.

No probs Steve! It'll be a couple of hours as it's only 7 am here and my neighbours hate me enough without me being in the shed at this hour of the morning! ;) Someone might jump in with the size between now and then!
