Pioneer: Yep that's the Aussie GE they all have an Oil Cooler here!
The Turbo Oil Drain is left undrilled but in the past I've drilled mine as it's well above the Oil in the pan unlike the cooler return in the pan.
My new motor is my first GTE block as I needed the squirters this time.
Damn hard to find accurate non confusing info on the 5M! ;)
So to answer MDC's question nope you can't bore a 7M block to make it oversquare using a 5M crank ......
I believe the 5M stroke is 75mm so with the 7M's 83mm bore it would be well oversquare so no need to bore it.
So you end up with
Computed Engine Displacement (CID) is 149
Computed Engine Displacement (Litres) is 2.4
Computed Engine Displacement (CC) is 2434.8
Not sure how much harder...
I know Jake over at Mk3Tech has a set of unmachined Mecharts there but I can't see a company sending out a set unfinished to a retail customer!
The 7M Eagles came out after I'd dropped the $$$ for the Pauters or I would have tried a set of them!
Only ever used the Copper Spray or GM Headbolt sealer but I assume the Brake Quiet would work the same just a thin even coat on each side of the gasket, let it go tacky then install making sure you don't move the head once it's down.
If you're talking about my 2.5" IC pipes do some math 3" aren't needed or desirable for the flow my Turbo makes @ 29psi.
JB: Agreed 100% that's why I went Tremec TKO/500 in mine.
Pioneer: Nope Brand New Head and Block, I wanted to drop the Comp a bit so I can run my maxx 29 psi with no fear of detonation.
I'm using a 4.10:1 Diff so it shouldn't affect off boost drivability too much (Very tall 5th in the Tremec so I don't lose on top end either)
Can't really comment...
Jeff: No idea about US spec but if you got the "sports pack" here you got Tems and a Spoiler on the NA's (Can't say I've ever seen a Mk3 here without a spoiler!)
