LOL Jake,
I was answering the other Jake ;)!
I don't think yours is a torched piston at all I still stick with my broken land guess!
All we need is for the other Jake to start posting here and it'll get really confusing!
When the motors cold it should move easily
there is a valve on the front of it controlled by a bimetalic spring that adjusts to the temp.
It sounds like your clutch is faulty.
Quick Q: Why do people remove the Charcoal Cannister? <stealth edit>
It's not a performance thing so is it just cosmetic?
If so have you considered using the little JDM plastic cannister and hiding it?
Jake: I agree if it's just a broken Land a hone will clean it up easily!
If it's torched a piston as in my case it trashes the bore :(
(you were very lucky but then again maybe you didn't drive it 50 km's home ;) )
I think both T Stats are important as they keep the temp more or less consistant and as the stock and aftermarket ECU's are reading coolant temp the'll be making corrections if it fluctuates.
(my thinking on this is if they don't have to correct for temp too often it's a good thing in case...
LMAO sorry no idea on the part # I just use em from the dead NA blocks I have here!
If Jeff Lange see's this he could provide the part number so maybe PM him the link to this thread?
