Yeah- 41 yrs old here, man. It's a car from 'our' period, after all. Good luck with the build! :biglaugh:

    My new 7M buildup...long road.

OK. This car is officially kicking my ass. Today I got lots of progress done, but didn't get to the finish line as hoped. I started off by degreasing the engine compartment, and began shoehorning the drivetrain in: Then I started hooking everything up. When I got to the new lower...

What's your guess on my ponies with these mods?

At about 8 psi and a stock ct w/ maft in blow thru. i was getting 260 rwhp. I would expect you to get at least 300-320 with the 57 trim @ 12psi.

I'm changing my timing belt and this is what I found. What does it indicate?

Yeah, I always hear about the 'crank the car' method, but have never tried it. The other way is to take off the lower tranny cover, and have a buddy block the flywheel with a prybar or something, and you use a big-ass breaker bar. That always works.

    My new 7M buildup...long road.

Well, it's finally happening- progress. Today was rainy, so I didn't get the motor in, but I did do some last minute work to the oil cooling system, and I finally mated the engine and tranny together! As I mentioned, the remote adapter was going to interfere with the turbo's outlet pipe, so I...

Nobody? I figured the heavy guns on this forum might know the answer to this one. :icon_bigg

    Differences in throttle bodies?

Hi again guys, I searched and found mention that there is a difference in 87-88 and 89+ TB's, but no specifics except for the mention of the idle screw. What I'd like to know is, is there a difference in the TB's as far as what TB gasket you need to use, because my TB doesn't match the gasket...

Cylinder Head Preparation and Reassembly First-Timer

Yeah, the toyo tool is the one to get, not those others posted above. In fact, one of the tools you mentioned zumtizzle is actually a valve adjustment tool- meaning it's designed to allow you to chenge valve shims, not remove and install the valve spring assemblies. I would have bought the toyo...

    transmission seals, how tough?

Well, I removed and replaced the rear seal, no problems, and I removed the bellhousing and input cover, and popped out that seal as well. I had to order the front seal, it'll be a few days till that arrives, but that's ok, I have to wait a few days anyway till I have time to install the drivetrain.

    silly honda

Hey now- I've been driving this sweet 94 Civic DX auto with 3 of it's 4 13" hubcaps. I'm in the middle of my engine replacement, so it's the Civic for now. But you know, the more I drive it, the more I realize how incredibly fast this rocket is....I'm thinking of selling the Supra...

Cylinder Head Preparation and Reassembly First-Timer

Sounds like you're doing almost the exact same prep job as mine. I used the tool i post #5 on my build thread- http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47861 it was made for import and motorcycle engines. The metal tool you see is the installer. It has an adjustable depth collar...

    transmission seals, how tough?

Hi guys, I searched, but only found a mention of this about a 1jzgte- How hard is it to replace both the front input shaft seal, and the rear ouput seal on the R154? Do I just have to pop out the old, and pop in the new one on the rear, and for the front, just unbolt the front input shaft...

    7mgte swap with w58

I used to drive the 7mgte w/ w58. Like everyone has said, it's a great combo, but you'll need a better clutch.

    BEST pillar pod?

I bought a gauge pod 6 years ago. It's not an A-pillar replacement, just the pod, but it was for a 2nd gen eclipse, and fits great, with pretty much zero modifications. Painted it with a maroon paint, and it's a perfect color match.

    My new 7M buildup...long road.

Well, I pretty much completed the engine now, and now it's time to mate it to the tranny. Unfortunately, that'll have to wait till after the weekend. :icon_mad: Here's how it looks as it is now; One thing kinda sucks, though- I just found out that my remote oil adapter - the part...
