    speedohmeter cable

My lower cable broke and it was $16 from the dealer. Verify your upper cable is good or bad by hooking a drill up to the upper cable flex shaft, down where you disconnected it. I did this and saw that my speedo read fine, so I knew it was the cheap lower section that needed replacing.

What is your life outside of SM?

My name's Diego, in Atlanta. I work as a pilot, flying charter and air medical in a Beechjet. Before that I was a flight instructor, before that I did customer service for Delta Airlines. Just bought my first house, and doing a lot of renovations. I'm single, no pets(nobody to watch them...

    Help....

yeah- when I got my swap, someone had already rewired the knock sensors, but 6 months later, the harness started rubbing on the EGR area, and melted/shorted the KS wire, and bang! code 52. the KS rewire is fast, easy, and brings immediate improvement to performance.

    Jarco Rebuilt Engine

In a way, I guess I can be a reference for Jarco. I have NOT purchased an engine from them, but because I have purchased a number of items from them in the past, I asked them who they recommended I use to machine my motor. The gave me the name of the shop they use in Canton, GA. Those guys...

    Wifey's New Grocery Getter

Having a wife that falls in love with a beat up, blown-motor, 20+ year old import....PRICELESS... Sounds like a nice situation- You get the turbo motor stuff, you get to use your NA from the Cress in her car, you get the 5spd, and she gets an auto...sounds like a lot of work, but everybody...

playing on the CNC mill today

Great idea, Zero- I like it! It might be a bit too 'bling' for me to have the entire pax side of the dash light up, but I could always paint the back of it black except for the supra logo.

    550cc Injectors...

You also want to make sure you choose the right impedance injectors for your car. You didn't say what year your is, but I know that the 87-88 turbos are low impedance injectors.

Supra Enhanced SOGI Shifter Mods & Facts

I got the harmonics in my W58, but that tranny was a little worn. In my R154, the SOGI mod causes no vibration.

    building up a blown 7mge n/a

Sell the 5.0 and get a 7mgte swap. It'll drop right in, and you'll have a car 10x more unique than a 5.0. I mean- I can't swing a dead cat without hitting a mustang...but a supra? rare. Also, it's my opinion that a MkIII supra just feels better to drive than a mustang, especially if you have...

Strange things found while working on Supras.

LOL! Hell- I thought ALL supra owners left a 14mm wrench back there- it's easier than trying to get it out, only to have to get it back up there the next time you change starters or clutches... :biglaugh:

Oil pressure issues. I'm running out of ideas...

I know you said that the sound is coming from the rear of the motor, but also, a loose crank pully will definately gives you RK sounds.

Oil pressure issues. I'm running out of ideas...

remember that you'll hear the injectors tapping quite loudly, so see if it's a high tapping noise- clicking, or a lower tone. Best of all, use a mechanic's stethescope to find out where the noise is coming from.

    Epic Fail

Just FYI, I failed emissions this year for NOx, and it turned out to be the cat of all things! I went over the vacuum control of the egr and the egr itself many times, only to pass with flying colors once I replaced the relatively new cat.

    Helllppp

I think the torque setting for the use of motor oil as a lube might have been closer to 100 IIRC, but I wouldn't go that high, Munky- Just use 80 with the lube, and if you find it leaks, you can always torque down more.

no oil pressure on fresh rebuild.....!UPDATED...AGAIN...with pics!

LISTEN VERY CAREFULLY!!!! DO NOT LET THAT AFPR LINE GO ANYWHERE NEAR THAT EXPOSED ALTERNATOR WIRE!!! That is a positive lead, and guess what- Your AFPR line is grounded. Wanna see you new engine melt down in a hurry?

    a lil tap tap

Sometimes when your throwout bearing or pilot bearing is getting worn, you'll hear/feel a ticking/vibration when the clutch is disengaged or partially engaged, but it goes away when you fully engage the clutch pedal.
