I'd like opinions based on fact not "My brother girlfriends uncle has....." ;)
I'm thinking of upgrading and would like to hear you experiences, likes dislikes!
thanks in advance!
Jimi: I just went with new Toyota bolts they're good quality.
I've seen where you can use ARP's for another car that fit but don't think there are specific 7M kits. (I think it was Corolla bolts)
7M is just smoother all over the rpm range and feels very willing to rev
6M crank feels a little harsher.
Long term the 7M crank "should" be kinder to the bearings.
It seems to be a really good combination that under full throttle/18 psi is right on the limit of what the tires can cope with but even in the wet I can use up to 14 psi with no loss of traction!
I think anything over 20 psi will easily over power the tires making it hard/dangerous to drive...
Kurt: The ports are +2>3mm
Brian: .351"/9mm lift 280 degrees duration 226@50thou
I think a lot of my success is the 1.06 AR on the GT3540R it's letting it breathe up top and limiting the hit at mid range making it drivable.
SS: You're welcome I'm just kicking back this afternoon surfing around a bit ;)
Just remember to double check the fit and finish of the Snout to Balancer when you're reassembling it.
(as well as 197 ft/lbs is damn tight)
SS: It should be square on the ends so no slop/play isn't normal it's a sign that it wasn't done up to the 197 ft/lbs required!
It may have shagged the keyway in the Balancer as well as worn the crank snout (should be a tight slip fit).
