John: Time to step back and get some perspective...
It's only a car and it will get fixed so relax a little as stressing about it will only make matters worse. (you might make bad decisions cut corners whatever and make the situation much worse as 7M's really don't reward haste)
I'm sure...
SH: LOL @ the spellcheck!
With your Turbo you could get away with either 2.25" or 2.5" pipes the smaller pipes would give a touch better throttle response.
2.25"
600 cfm = 247 mph = 0.32 mach
2.5"
600 cfm = 200 mph = 0.26 mach
Critical speed is around 304 mph = 0.40 mach.

At least here there isn't the rampant "Rep Whoring" that goes on in other forums!
On another Forum I have 47,000 hard earned points but many others have 3>4 times that through whoring so it means little if anything!

Depending on Gas quality it might even put you into knock and the ECU will pull timing giving you worse overall performance.
A built motor is a whole different game.
I guess it would depend how quiet/restrictive an exhaust you were running to how much it would affect spool.
Mine's pretty rumbly/not restrictive at all so running it Boost operated wouldn't affect much.
I was thinking of the guys that run a near stock Choke ummm I mean Exhaust ;)
Ok I understand your idea but I was thinking if it was open prespool it would let the Turbo spool so much faster instead of just snapping open after the lag!
