JDM: Yes I surfaced the Block and Head, the machine shop dinged the block when they had it there as it was brand new and very flat and smooth from Toyota I would have used it as is.
Cometics are great but they're still an MLS MHG. (multi layer steel)
They're a little more forgiving on the surface RA but not a lot so still need a smooth flat surface.
I'm using a 3mm Cometic in my motor and it's fine.
Use a scraper get it spotless then a clean rag with some paint thinner.
Permatex Brake quiet and a Composite head gasket, forget the MHG if you're not going to have the block surfaced correctly.
The Cometic's ARE a MHG and aren't flexible in any way shape or form they just spec a higher...
Now that must be a real speed machine!
Fuel here is much cheaper than you guys pay so there's really no reason to import a 2 litre Supra.
Our car makers still make 5 and 6 litre motors.
They just leave em as is Matt!
You'd be amazed at how much about America the average Aussie knows as we've been bombarded with your TV since the early 60's!
Jeff: Not saying there aren't any here but I've never seen or heard of a Jap Import Narrow body here.... why on earth would anyone bother?
1600kg car with an anaemic 2 litre 6....... nah ;)
