I can't remember which car/motor it was but many years ago I had this problem and the only way I found to stop it was to get a big hose clamp that would fit over the filter and a piece of safety wire tighten the clamp over the wire then anchor it to the block so it couldn't unscrew.

In RHD cars it's the Heater Hose.
Get a good quality blank plug and clamp then try and find a way to shield it from heat. (Toyota must have been INSANE putting all that shielding in there what would they know huh!) ;)
Unless the callipers are wet from fluid leaking I'd leave them alone (I worked at a brake shop for many years as a kid and rarely saw a leaking calliper and when it was 9 times out of 10 it was toast)
The "seal" you can see has NOTHING to do with sealing fliud it's for dust.
