Not a Ferrari, Not a Porsche, Not a Lamborghini, Not a Mercedes, Not a BMW, Not a Cobra. It's a Dodge Charger Daytona 237.373 that is damn fast. I wonder if there are any MK4's out there that could challenge that record someday.

obviously the mk4 couldn't compete with it or it would be up there... it's production cars right? they've already produced all they are going to...

I believe you guys are talking about the Bugatti Veyron. 4 turbos=lots of power. It's ugly, though.

I'm more impressed by acceleration than top speed. The Nismo Skyline R34 GT-R Z Tune is absolutely insane and cheap as hell ($150K+) for what it is and is capable of.

I've seen that JUN Supra before and it is indeed quite impressive but what strikes me as odd is that it's got two T-78s and is making what one source says is 1200ps and another says is [capable of] 1300HP. Of course this record wasn't set yesterday, but there are a few turbos out there that I'm sure could equal if not better the output of the dual 78s as a single setup.

Doesn't the McClaren hit 250's stock?

Close, its official top speed is 240.1mph, as reported by the company, I haven't read about anybody that actually hitting that, but that doesn’t mean it can't.

Also, only 100 of them were ever produced, hardly enough to qualify as a production model.

Probably has to do with efficiency and temperature. Dual 78s can provide the up to 50psi of boost alot cooler than a single. Those top speed runs last alot longer than a normal drag race so keeping the heat down is really important to engine survival. Just my guess.

I dunno much about the car, but didn't the 1989 Corvette Sledgehammer (SP) have an almost 250mph Record?

Yeah, it was a Callaway car. It was actually closer to 255mph, but it was a one off car. There are probably all sorts of crazy rules and loopholes for qualifying as a production vehicle.
