    Might have to unbolt the trans mount and jack up the back of the motor to get it to clear the firewall. I'd pull the manifold just to lighten it a bit but if you have a couple of strong mates to help it should clear.

    Even if the WG was full open you'd manage 1>2 psi of boost at least. Good move getting it checked at GCG. Was the BoV working before it died?

    It sounds like it's surged badly on a shift and maybe straightened out the Comp blades and now there's not enough clearance for it to spin freely under boost :( Possibly bent the shaft..... (worth checking the BoV)
