I have a GTE RIDDLE for you pros

What is this "wood" you speak of? ;) (I can make ANYTHING in metal but am hopeless with wood)

Greg: off Topic a touch! Do you bleed the air from the line and oil side of the accumulator before the first startup?

I have a GTE RIDDLE for you pros

Nick: The coatings I use on the crowns are easily damaged so I guess I'm a little paranoid ;) the rubber hose won't bend as you're only dropping 1>2" onto the crown then bring #1 to TDC (no need for a full rotation)

I have a GTE RIDDLE for you pros

Nick: Ideal situation is a longshaft dial indicator on a Mag base. Hose is rough and ready (you're just using it to verify the notch on the damper hasn't slipped) and as I said less chance of damage, using an extension is fine but what happens if you get the fumbles and drop it back onto the...

Mic: If you don't go mental and try to squeeze 15mm of shim in there it won't spike. There is a formula that uses wire diameter number of coils diameter of spring to give you the rate. A digital vernier calliper makes it easier to measure. Here's a basic online calculator so you don't...

Personally I'd chuck the stock pressure based cooler as far as I could and build a nice temperature based full flow system.

Most of the 7M leaks open around 40 psi...... (squirters are a little lower but the cooler relief opens at 40ish) There is no "formula" for how much preload = psi as each motor will be different due to tolerances/wear. 4.8mm on my last build gave me 75>80 psi above 3000 rpm. (4 x...

Aaron: If you shoot for 10 psi per 1000 rpm pressure this gets you in the ballpark, only way to achieve this in a 7M is to shim the pump. Where it all goes a little wrong is when people think "more is better" and wind up with a relief that barely opens as the spring is coil bound. (think WG...

Mic: If you have a way of accuratly measuring the free length and wire diameter in the 2 springs you could calculate the rates but a safer option would be to shim the stock spring with a 6mm/ 0.250" shim. I found some 1.2mm thick washers that are perfect for this and use 5 of them. Make sure...

    Jaguar_5's 87 Turbo Build

Jag: The select fit bearing sizes on the block are to allow for production tolerances, The blocks will be machine bang bang bang one after another and eventually the sizes will shift during a run. They send the block into the check room where a guy will measure each one then stamp it and send...
