A LOT of the gear we take for granted was science fiction when I was into cars the last time so the learning curve for me has been almost vertical!
Kurt: Yeah I think shipping a pressure pak might be a bit dodgy so I think at this point Copper is looking good as it allows movement between the surfaces!
But the only way to do the job correctly!
You don't need to heat it red hot or anything stupid just a nice even preheat so the cold area of the block isn't leeching the heat away from the weld zone and prestressing the weld.....

Give it a few taps with a soft face hammer or a wooden hammer handle then use a pair of bolts with just the threads in the cap squeezed together as leverage to wiggle it out!
