    Fred: ON a fresh build I see minimum 30psi cranking with the plugs removed. I'll run the starter in 20>30 second bursts till I see the needle rise wait for a minute then crank till I see good pressure fit the plugs then fire it!

    Motul 5.1 is a synthetic for ABS cars. I always flush with a litre of methylated spirit aka denatured alcohol consisting of a mixture of ethyl alcohol and methyl alcohol. It works by surrounding any moisture (ie:water) and carries it out of the system, I then run 1/2 a litre of fresh brake...

    In our gearboxes you have a shaft with all the gears joined together this is the clustershaft (constant mesh trans). To engage a gear you lock the syncro to the mainshaft for that gear and away you go. The older way of doing it and even in most sequential race type boxes is Dog Gear...

    JaV: Engaging a gear stops the Clustershaft from turning so if you're quick you can select reverse before it starts to spin again.

    I think there is a basic missunderstanding here on the 1JZ torque..... The 7M will make MORE torque at a lower RPM due to it's longer stroke having more leverage it's not rocket science. This makes a difference in a big Fat car like a Mk3 in normal day to day driving.
