LOL guessed as much but even so it's the custom work to install it that costs the big $$$ I did the IRS and Slow has done a live axle install neither of which could be considered "cheap"
LOL get the flame suit out you're going to need it ;)
Done right it'd make a nice lazy unfussed reliable DD as long as everything in the car works and it's not Cletus'd.
LOL always amazes me when I see parts on our cars being deleted "cos they're not needed and don't affect anything" like Toyota put them there just for fun and not that even a simple part can run into $millions$ over a production run and if they could build the car without it they would..... :nono:
Race cars are usually built from brand new shells so have 0 seam sealer or rust proofing but that one looks at the extreme end of the scale ;)
(that's why I asked if it had been recovered from a lake or the ocean)
I have around the 7k AUD in my head and while it may not be "needed" it's part of what makes my motor so flexable and sweet to drive even off boost.
It all comes down to what you can afford/justify as the 7M responds very well to head work.
Dunno that it's a case of "knowing" it's more a case of looking at how something has been engineered and why it's been done that way, there's usually a good reason for things as parts left out would reduce costs for Toyota so if it wasn't needed they wouldn't put it in....
Say for instance...
