Ummmm as I said the Tq Converter cushions the drivetrain from any shock loads. Back in the 80's I had a fairly new car (3 yr old) that I used to routinely drop into R at 30mph....... Never had a failure just LOTS of smoke from the rears. I don't recommend this practice but am just pointing...

Accidents happen.... I've probably done more miles over 100mph then most kids here have done in total and only ever had 1 accident (just happened to be a monumental one) My "point" I'm trying to make is NOT to be fooled into thinking the Mk3 is some safe wonder car that you'll walk away...

Brick walls fall over pretty easy ;) It's big solid things like Bridges and Trees that will get ya, and in my case a power pole ;) (Hands up here who has died in an accident :sadwavey: )

Don't kid yourselves guys these little traffic accidents are just a lesson in physics that we win with more mass. Have a fast accident into something solid and you're dead just like anyone else.
