The problem with that approach is with only 3.0L and a 3500+ lb car you're already limited by the need for low to midrange torque to move the fat pigs.
ANY modification to an NA motor is going to move the torque curve upwards in the powerband and drivability will suffer unless you use very...

Just take it slow use a good fitting driver and make sure it's square to the bearing bore before pounding it in ;)

Driz: In a stock cast piston the valve reliefs are cast into them
In a forged piston most times they're machined in with a cutter
Look at the valve relief and you should be able to tell if they're stock or not.
