fans turn off when key is off... I've seen the aux fans come on with the key on, plus my fog lights are wired into the gauge fuse, so they only come on with the key on...

more than likely there was some oil in the plug valley from leaking cam cover seals that got on the spark plug. you can make the fuel pump come on through jumping 2 ports in the diagnostic block under the hood, I forgot which and can't find it right now. Doing so will show where you're leaks...
