It it will run fine and rev fine if you move the throttle and not when you use the gas pedal the only thing that's different is the linkage assembly.
Other than that, it sounds like the AFM is disconnected...
Putting it in another gear just wastes the time (instead of waiting), and you may spin the gear enough to get it to sync up (long shot).
I'm NOT talking aobut letting the clutch out while trying for reverse, I said put it in neutral and then try again (this gets the gears spinning again)...
I swear, everyone has me on ignore
I've said that as well, even worse, the fuel pump had to pump that garbage as well, so it's more than likely not in great shape...
Going to another gear before reverse is a waste.
To avoid a clunk or grinding do this:
-Press clutch pedal in
-Wait ten seconds
-Put in reverse
If it doesn't go in, put it back in neutral, let the clutch out, then try the steps over.
Back of my 89 turbo owner's manual:
Fuel: Use only UNLEADED fuel, Research Octane No. 91 (Octane Rating 87) or higher. For improved vehicle performance, the use of Premium unleaded gasoline with a Research Octane No. of 96 (Octane Rating 91) or higher is recommended.
(The bold parts...
Not to mention the owners on those forums that don't consider anything other than a MKIV a Supra...
Or even worse, the fanboys that don't even own a Supra and don't know their ass form a hole in the ground, but they know the MKIV was built by God...
I don't even go over there anymore...
Been tempted to figure out if I could just build a DSL modem/router linux box in some way...
Our modem is a POS, any router that we run with it has issues because it's such a piece, and it would make the network a bit easier...
Yeah, that tow truck driver is a bit of a tard...
But if you look at the car, it looks like it was lowered to the point that there was ZERO room to work with as well.
Verizon only uses D-Link in their installs...so I'd think he's biased :D
I don't mind D-Link, but quite a few of their routers have issues with too much traffic (namely if you're file sharing), hence why we went back to linksys.
Keep in mind while the components may SEEM to be simple, they...
65 is too low... the proper torque is in the 70's (you can search for that answer)
There are a huge number of reasons it could be slower. Sensors out of adjustment, ect. Check for codes first off.
Make sure all your vaccum lines are hooked up properly as the GE's have a system that...
Our cars aren't integrated like modern cars, so the A/C system is almost completely seperate from the engine management.
Pretty much any of them will allow you to keep A/C...
The stock GTE setup goes from vacuum at the throttle body, to vacuum before the turbo.
Yes, at closed throttle you have tons of vacuum at the throttle body...
You're missing the point.
YOU ARE DEALING WITH USED UNKNOWN ENGINES.
They may have NEVER had the oil changed. You can't assume that the internals are fine. Hell, by your own thought process, you could simply find another used 7M block and just use that.
It is NOT the same as a BRAND...
