Outhandle the Geo? I think not.
If I could keep up with tuned Supras in the twisties with a 3 cylinder geo metro, I think you're underrating them.
We also don't have either of the other cars you mentioned over here.
Oh, and I've gotten MUCH better than 45MPG out of a Geo Metro...
What spray lube did you use?
If you use spray lithium grease, it sprays like a penetrating oil, but then turns into grease. Just make sure you aim well...
IJ beat me to it. As it's a rack and pinion, there isn't anything that can "slip" inside the actual rack itself without having major failure.
The rack bushings on the other hand are rubber. If you've had a fluid leak in that area, they're gonna be toast...
they're the same
The GT blocks have only one boss drilled and tapped, and the GTE has two.
Before machining, the blocks are 100% identicle. They just drill and tap holes in different spots.
The dowels won't bottom out easily...
The coolant union on the back of the head sucks. If the bolt breaks (likely) it's not easy to get out. The only reason I'd remove it now is if the fittings where eroded badly (one of mine was).
Don't know about duration, but I know the turbo intake...
If they're orginal 89+ mounts and they're torn, you'll notice fluid (they're fluid filled)
If they used the MKIV 2J mounts, just make sure they're straight and they're probably fine...
Well, it's not factory, but there where dealer installed phones (quite common actually).
I think it's funny that he says it was imported...THEY ALL ARE.
And he says it's inspected...when it's clearly about 3 inches sunk into the ground...
First thing first... WHY DID YOU SAY ANYTHING TO THEM?
They don't have a warranty, they can't do jack to you. If they do have a warrant, be quiet and don't answer questions. They are allowed to lie to you to get what they want out of you...
