I suppose it depends on how badly it's malfunctioning. :) I had to drive 4 miles to get home with no AFM once. It wasn't any fun. I did make it, however, which is a testament to Toyota engineering in the first place.

Um, no. Without the AFM you can't get more than about 1400 rpm, and you can't use more than about 10% throttle. This will, however, allow you to limp to *somewhere* that you can fix it, in many cases.
