My first guess is going to be a disconnected or dead AFM. The electronics are identicle from the stock GTE one and the Lexus one, it's the housings that are different. Swap the electronics from your (hopefully) know good stock one if you need to.

For my set it was this, but check your own pipes to make sure. Also, t-bolt clamps tend to be a pain on these pipes (you'll understand when you put them on and why the worm gears fit better).

Game called Legion. Doesn't have the same crazy base stuff as the Tribes games though. Controls are nearly exact and it looks and plays great.
Wouldn't have happened just driving it IMHO...
Unless he forgot the part about just beating on the car it's more than likely an issue with the clutch not fully being disengadged...
