That's a really good idea. I imagine that 18 wheeler parts aren't that expensive, run on 12v current just fine, and you can get LED tails that way that basically never burn out. Both Mk4 front and rear conversions have been done to the Mk3. No, this is *not* practical, but it is possible.

I doubt this is the wastegate. If this were sticking, it would spike to a higher boost initially, then be slower to close and start building boost again after a deceleration. Does this happen at the same PSI reading all the time?

Flushing the lines is easy - just bleed them until the fluid coming out isn't black anymore. Remember to get parts from the dealers on the forums - even including shipping, chances are you'll get a much better price than you would locally.

Agreed. I've never heard of this being a common problem, parts are not hard to get from any Toyota dealer (though they'll be cheaper from the dealer here on the forums) and it's just plain not that hard to replace.
