You still need to jam/keep the crnak from turning. For a breaker bar, I've often used the handle from my floor jack (and the starter method). It's a two piece pipe which will fit over most rachets. I use one piece wich is around 2 feet long.

Ummm.... You need to do some reading up on what you're gonna need and how to do it. Lots of info out there and it sounds like you have a wishlist, but no real direction. Also, I don't see that you've posted much and I have more of question about how you think you may get sponsored...

Any more pics of 18s out there? The fiance is probably gonna go with 18s on her MKIV and I may eventually go that route, since I've beat up on my poor Borbet 17s for 7+ years (they were used when I bought 'em).

Well... kinda. You really should just read thru the 1JZ/2JZ sections of the different forums, so that you can see what potential issues you could run into and how to prepare. Get yourself educated and plan ahead... you won't B a newbe for long :biglaugh:

^^I thought of doing that when I had the 2J/5-speed before...but am now using a 2J w/the auto tranny so it's not available as an extra cooler.

It may have just been the cat this time, but if you are consistently having the rotten egg smell, it's more likely your O2 sensor... won't throw a code or anything, but replacing it solved the issue for others (as well as ensured passing emissions). Do a search for rotten egg...(really)

^^naw... It was just another excuse to use to get my way ;-) I justified it by saying... It will take me longer to remove/replace the head, than do a 1JZ swap... how little I knew.

I forgot the RTV sealant (I used the regular blue stuff before) on my last head replacement. About a year later I get the mystery oil leak and it just got way worse... puddles being left under the car after awhile. Only way to fix was to remove the head and do it all over... that's when I went...

I think that maybe a pic or two of the issue might be helpful. I read it and I have a couple of extra auto speedo cables that I may be able to offer, but am afraid I still don't really understand the real problem.
