after the car has cooled down has it lost much water?its possible to blow a head gasket between bore and coolant port which pressurises the radiator and forces the water out the overflow bottle.just one of many reasons you could be overheating, did you check your thermostat first?

in fact even comparing a 1988 turbo A head to a 91 model cressida 7m n/a they are both identical, but both were different to my 1988 model 7mgte head(different inlet port design although bugger all difference in it.))

Head is now pulled to bits and porting work has started.Ill post up pics when the head is all finished this week.So far all the valves are straight and with no pitting on the sealing face of the valve or seats, a light facing should be all thats required, to get them sealing....

head is off to the machinist and new discs and pads are fitted.We're just waiting for "rich to send us the ARP's and the timing belt.Also newly arrived is the map ecu's, i decided to add one to my cressida as well, couldnt let turbo-a have all the fun.lol

im hoping for your sake that a ring hasnt grabbed or youll be up for a warranty claim.Luck with the problem

ive seen supra headgaskets blown between cylinder and water jacket , the symptom useally is as you rev the car with the radiator cap off the water spews out the radiator neck.Doesnt mean your gasket isnt blown because there is no visible sign of water in the oil.Youll probably find your radiator...

good to see another cressida sleeper, i built a 7mgte for my 91 grande and its nasty as hell, i found the cressidas had a beautiful l.s.d diff and handle quite well when pushed.The auto wiring is a pita but is doable, i should do a write up on how its done but i guess being a supraforum its...

oooops forgot to add we'll chuck on some new DBA slotted rotors and bendix ceramic pads this weekend on his turbo A to help slow it down after the odd quick run.lol.And yes he has too much money to waste so i just help him waste it in the right direction....cheers dan bring around the beer this...

Well a mate of mine just blew his turbo A headgasket so i jumped at the chance to fix it hopefully better than ever. It will be getting a few new bits such as:ARP head bolts, map ecu, apexi filter, port and polish and the usual head jobs(sounds dirty)valves, valve stem seals e.t.c, HKS...

my two cents worth is have your wastegate actuator checked in case its not functioning properly, maybe a previous owner added washers behind the two bolts that hold it to the turbo.Also, it might be worth checking the wastegate making sure its opening properly.Sounds like all common sense stuff...
