Agreed. There are at least three that I can think of...
- The heater control VSV, that controls whether you have hot coolant circulating through your heater core in the cabin.
- The EGR VSV, which controls the EGR system.
- The Fuel Pressure VSV, which controls your fuel pressure regulator...

Nah, there is this ongoing battle between a couple of the guys here, where they edit each other's profiles (they are both mods, of course) in the most embarrasing way they can. They pull all sorts of pranks on each other, some of 'em are damn funny.

In any case, you are right on the money with your plans - you need to drop the tranny to figure out what is ailing the system.
