Ordered some already... will see how they work and let you know. They come with new metal ends for the wires, but I've never crimped any of those on (should be interesting).
Thanks,
E
Bigzavs - I may be looking for odd pieces of an Aristo harness for some further experimentation. If you...
...A great oppty to just install a 15Lb solenoid popper (~. Cable is great, but pressing a button on the dash is greater. Sux though when battery's disconnected/dead.
^^Wow. That is awesome!! Gonna order a set to try, but am still confused about the trouble the MKIV guys have when putting a US harness on a JDM TT engine.
Search isn't werkin' over there, so I have nothing to reference it to.
THANKS again tho...definitely helps!!!
^^ Right, but even though I am ordering a new TT-auto harness for the wife's MKIV, we were planning on sticking with the Aristo injectors. Since the harness ships with connectors for the 550s, I understood that this would not work. Others have cut the connectors off of their old JDM harness...
Okay,
So search is down on SF (what's new?).
I saw a thread on another forum where someone refreshed/replaced almost ALL of the connectors on his 2J harness. Does anyone know where the thread's at? I think they even listed the part numbers for all of the connectors.
Basically, I am...
I believe that the engine's got a rear sump oil pan... so, short list...
1. Figure out PS line
2. Tranny tailshafts and shifter bracket/mount are different - Custom DS, does shifter fit?
3. Get motor mount brackets from a JZA70
4. A/C - 7M Cap?
5. Wire harness is already long...
What clip do you have? MKIV, Lexus? What car is it going into (MKIII)?
You'll have most of the same things to address, like you would with a TT swap... Motor mount brackets, tranny/driveshaft, oilpan, exhaust, wiring, etc.
I am getting ready to put a TT in the wife's MKIV and move the NA...
Okay, so I remember specifically getting the "under cut" ones for a previous 2JZ build.
Picked up an Aristo engine set earlier this week and am now taking it apart to replace rings, bearings, etc.
Getting ready to order another set of ARP head studs. Thing is, the only ones I am finding...
Yeah, I may mess with it this weekend. I was hoping it'd be something along the lines of a failing headlight relay, or retractor module deal. Not any changes in the front body harness, though the car was hit in the passenger front corner before, so there may be some hidden wiring damage I'll...
Started this in the general section, but not much info/response... I did not have this issue with the 2JZ-VVTi swap in the '90, so am not sure what's up. This swap, using Aristo engine harness. With the VVTi, I had a 1999 JDM Supra harness. Any ideas on fixing this issue and making it look...
^^The waterpump can be found at almost any autoparts for $45-$80ish. I wanted the housing and the waterpump came with it... a used waterpump is better than none ;-)
And actually, I believe that to get a reman one from most autoparts, there's a core charge. Dunno what that would be, but...
The pulley can be had for about $25-$40 used or get the aluminum cheepo set from the auction site for about $45.
The fan has to be from a 2J TT and you can usually get from $50-$75 used. I got mine for about $45 a couple years back. Just have to be looking.
The housing/assembly/pump for...
Guage or cigarette lighter fuse? Can't rememeber, but there is a seemingly-unrelated fuse which affects a bunch of that stuff you would not have thought it did.
Had the problem in 1998, so I can't remember what it was, but am almost sure it was fuse-related.
If ya need the A/C recharged...
Got to mess with things a little tonight...
I replaced the IACvand it did do something interesting...
It idled down to about 650, then started the bounce between 550 and 750 RPMs. So, I am almost sure that the last 2 IACv I've tried are somewhat good. I do have another on the Aristo...
I did ground them, but a bit messy (had to solder the strands together with copper wire). I am almost 100% sure of the ground connections tho. I removed the auto stuff and accidentally removed the wrong TPS as well as the coolant temp sensor, then re-wired them back in. Checked for...
Curious to see if anyone found anything on this topic? When I first did the swap, everything ran fine, so I am curious if maybe it stopped being fine when I removed all of extra/unused wiring. Maybe there was something there from a sensor or resistance in some cicuit, which is now missing...
Hey man.. How ya been,
On my 2J, the idle fluctuates/bounces and I am sure that it's the IACv. Only bounces between 600-900 RPMS. I have another one I need to put on now, which should fix the issue.
You may be able to fit a 2J IACv on there, but it will not be very easy. The 1J's is a...
