uh oh!! thats not a good sign. symptoms of bhg. do a search and see what a nightmare youve likely gotten yourself into.
as far as your "leak," first thing is to fill you resivoir with coolant, then check your water temp sender and connections. when i had the same problem and replaced...
im kind of in the same situation as you. car is running good, and much better gas mileage. its pulling a lot harder that it ever has. although the turbo does surge at high rpm. but im not too sure how to tune at different loads, etc. just a note to keep in mind... i wouldnt run the car with...
s7mgte: good chance your piping is getting that hot because not enough oil is getting to your turbo
james: your local exhaust shop can fabricate one for you since its only a 12" or so piece of pipe. saves you some money on shipping
if you want to free up restrictions in your exhaust system, you must increase the diameter of the exhaust piping from the turbo to the muffler. in addition to that, decreasing the flow work by limiting turbulence and sharp bends in the piping... both the ddp and test pipe will help aid this...

oh crap... ive got to do some research on this.
i have a dual oil filter relocation with 2 napa gold filters. keeps things pretty clean. i change one of the two filters every oil change. oil is the the same amber color as you described.
Penzoil plat. is also sythetic? Do they have heavier...
i agree the synthetic does not cause seals to leak... ill rephrase what i said, older cars with original seals are more prone to leak when you switch to synthetic.
as far as the mobil 1 goes... wow i didnt know that. ive been using mobil 1 forever. but i am very satisfied with the product. i...
i agree stay with the toyota tstat
but if you happen to had rebuilt within the last year or two, or more recent, go with mobil 1 sythetic. if its the original engine and still has the original seals, stay with regular oil, otherwise the seals will leak.
