We're also working on a possible program to showcase some of the highest hp MkIIIs around. Last year Tony dipped into the 9s with his 7M-GTE powered MkIII.
The hotel change was a VERY difficult decision.
Rates were pretty close when everything was quoted. And the Luxor has been GREAT to us for 11 years.
The Hampton Inn had a few things the Luxor couldn't match.
FREE Airport pickup/dropoff - ok... this is an automotive event but not...
Also, help support this annual Supra tradition and help clear out my guest room. We have shirts from the past SILV events discounted for quick sale and flat rate shipping.

Neon Museum Tour - unofficial - coordinated by Chris J
Join us for a tour of the Neon Museum. Come out and see neon...
We’re working one a few changes to this year’s SILV08 event. One of the biggest changes is the addition of the SILV High Roller Series. This program is designed for the MkIVs but we want to create one for the high HP MkIIIs as well.
The plan is that the participants in this series will...
I've had the waterfall sound for 136000+ miles. I've driven to Las Vegas from Portland 9 times - many of those up Baker Grade at speed with the air conditioner blasting as cold as it would go (a true test of any cooling system) - with no ill effects.
Do the normal tests before you panic -...
If it looks like it belongs there (and no, I don't mean some ragged out v8 in a ragged out Supra - have some pride) then I'm fine - yes, even with a chebbie powerplant.
The problem here is most of the people doing this swap go to the local junkyard and pick up what I can only assume is the...
Totally missed my original point.
If you are going to do it... do it right! Don't just drop some POS 350 in there all covered in grease and oil and call it a day. This is a Supra - not some rustbucket.
Grab a nice Lexus V8 powerplant and make it look like it came in the Supra. Then you...
Check your local hot rod groups. Odds are there is a reputable shop located somewhere nearby. You might pay a tad more... but you won't have to pay shipping.
I found one here in Portland that did my HKS 75mm Turbo Exhaust - this was done way back in 1998. I'm still running that exhaust.
Much like anything else... if you are going to do it... do it right.
We've all made fun of those guys that just slap some cheezeball 350 in there. No creativity, no attention to detail...
In contrast... there is a guy over on SupraForums that is putting a nice BIG Lexus V8 into his...
This is the police.
Please step away from the Supra.
You have violated code 21.431.8 of the Supra Preservation Act.
Place your hands on your head and walk backwards toward the sound of my voice.
:)
Guys... you have no idea how much liability we have doing these events. We cannot afford to be speeding as a large group of 50+ Supras. Do you even realize how big of a target we are? Might as well dress us in deer suits, paint bullseyes on our backs, and put us 3 feet in front of the hunter...
