One person's wild is another person's mild.
But this is all neither here nor there at this point.
IF we get 75 MkIIIs to prepay their registration fee by the time I have to order the trophies... we'll add the third category.
The problem both Duane's breakdown has is there will be 3 MkIIIs (if that) competing in wild. Not worth the extra trophy cost.
The concept here is how much work.
Stock = no work other than maintenance
Mild = simple bolt ons - something that you could take off the car in 15 minutes or...
Hey... I resemble that comment. :) This is true. I get no monitary gains from this event. Sure... I've had a free hotel room for the past few years... and now that I am not driving my own Supra down the event does pay for my pimp'n minivan rental so I can haul all of the stuff down...
OK... I'll make you guys a deal.
Stock + Mild + Wild on one condition.
at least 75 MkIIIs must prepay their registration fee online by the time I have to order up the awards.
I think that is totally fair. :)
OK... by that logic we didn't have a single "wild" car in Vegas last year.
I guess "MkIII Best Exterior" it is this year. :)
This is exactly the kind of problems we face with trying to create Mild and Wild classes.
Stock = Stock - EVERY body panel must remain Toyota Factory OEM. We want to give those precious few people who choose to maintain a very clean STOCK Supra a chance to win something. So this one is NOT up for debate.
If someone can prove a better way to define Mild vs Wild and can come up...
This arguement comes up every year.
First reason... money. We already give away 31 awards.
Second, there will always be someone that wants to redefine the line between Mild and Wild so that they can come in under the wire and be at the top of the Mild category rather than the bottom of...
I'll be rolling in the official SILV08 Minivan again - not mine luckily.
I was VERY impressed with the Sienna minivan last year. Rolling at California highway speeds - and still getting passed by SUVs - the tach on the Sienna read just over 2000rpms. WHAT?!? That's insane! I was getting...
Thanks guys. I filled in the license plate dimple and the hole in the nose left over by the emblem too. Everything was filled in with urethane repair stuff so it flexes with the bumper - not bondo that will just pop right out after a few months. I reinforced the lower lip with a bar to...
DANG! Looking at that pic from the grandstands looking back at the parking lot is GREAT! That's a lot of Supras! I wonder what event had more Supras... this one or TX? :)
