    rod knock or somthing else?

Hate to say it, but that sounds EXACTLY like what rod knock does. Try the bit with pulling the plug wires... pull one, see if it still sounds the same... try the next one, and so on. If any of the wires make the sound go away, it's knock for sure.

    stripped head bolt

Ah, that's easier. Don't worry about helicoils, thats for when you've stripped the threads out of the block itself. Are you trying to pull the head or put it back on?

    Help ! Low budget horsepower...

First up, you'll need some basic maintenance, or you'll be sorry. Fluids, hoses, seals - check as many as you can. After that is done, new intake, 3 inch exhaust from the back of the turbo all the way out, and then buy a boost controller and crank it up until just before you hit fuel cut.

MAFT topic beat into ground but im still confused???

Tuning it is rather easy, but you need access to a dyno or a wideband, or something similar. Power made is very similar... so much so that I'd say they are the same.

    The official Christmas Loot thread!

Post up the loot you got for Christmas this year! I got a rolling bench for tools & parts for the garage, a car cleaning kit, and a tool apron for storing my tools when I'm under the car on a creeper. Got some other goodies as well, but they are non-Supra related, perhaps I shall post the list...

MAFT topic beat into ground but im still confused???

It's pretty simple... lets break it down into simple steps. 1. We put larger injectors on the car. - The ECU thinks they are still stock size, so more fuel gets into the engine. - Fuel cut still happens in the same place. 2. We put a larger air measuring device on the car. - The ECU thinks...

    Trans Thread.....just interesting stuff :)

Pics or ban! ;) Seriously, I've seen similar problems many times on a bunch of trannies. Usually a nice quick fix, too - unless the part bouncing around managed to tear up the gears.

    7mgte with na ecu.

Not that simple - he'd have to get the turbo wiring harness, AFM, CPS, and everything else that's different as well.

New proprieters of 7mpower.com = Failures

Folks, I think we can trust Jeff to come up with the right ideas. But I think we'll need to beat him into making it for us! ;)

    I'm the new guy.

Is it running now??? Cool! :D

    7mgte with na ecu.

Hmm... might be a problem, the stock GTE ECU has built in timing adjustments. However, we cannot adjust the ECU timing amounts, and we push WAY over that level of power through the stock ECU, so I think you should be safe enough. You're running the GTE block and pistons, so you have the lower...

    rebuilding W58 transmission

First up, I'd change to a nice Redline MT90 tranny oil and run it for a couple weeks, see if that makes a difference. :) PS: You made a solid mount for the tranny? Are you talking about the crossmember part that holds up the rear of the tailshaft? Any pics? How hard was that to make? I've...

I hate to ask the obvious, but... have you checked the fluid in there?

    st prings

I have 'em. Pretty nice, though I'd be a bit happier if the drop on the front were a bit more, they look a little unbalanced - great for drag racing, tho.

    Help!!!!

Unless your rad cap is gone, your pretty much safe unless you are pushing liquid out the overflow.

    Turbo ???

500 rwhp isn't going to happen on an upgraded CT anyhow. You're looking at a full turbo kit, like the SP-6x series, and at least $2-3000.

    Help!!!!

Are you losing coolant out of the overflow? Have you run a block test to check for exhaust gasses in the coolant?

    HELPPP!! Must pass smog!!(california)

Depends on the area though - Cali is tough on emmissions, so levels that will pass in WA won't necessarily make it there.

    HELPPP!! Must pass smog!!(california)

Visual inspection means something with the system failed - gas cap not holding pressure, charcoal canister removed, lines from the gas tank to the canister to the BVSV to the throttle body broken or missing, something like that. A new cat & O2 can't hurt, that's for certain. Test that your EGR...
