i already checked and verified that neither injector 1 or 6 "clicks."
i didnt swap the actual injectors, but i swapped the clips of a working injector to the ones that werent working, and didnt feel the clicking
yea, but i had to move it the fuel rail because the valve covers were painted and it wasnt a good contact. but its been grounded like that for a few years and i didnt have any issues before that.
thanks
i cant say for sure. in my experience, i had 0 compression in cylinder number 3 along with a crap load of blowby. my research led me to believe i had a stuck valve. i took off the head to check it out and the valve was fine (the head was remanufacted 3 years earlier). turns out i had a...
i would take the check clearances. but ultimately i would take the head off for further inspection.
some more info would help. is this a new car? how long have you had it? any other symptoms?

from what ive read, the hood underliner reduces engine noise, not heat. things might be a bit louder, but i cant see you having a problem if its only going to be off for a short time

^^ sounds like a great deal. please pm with for some info.
but for the OP, a good idea would to rewire the whole thing. what i did is just buy a 4 pin connector for a trailer hitch at autozone (or other local auto part store) and replace that crappy stock connector.
i cut the wires on the...
i tested the voltage while the car was running on injector number 5 which works and compared it to the voltage on injector number 6 (not working) and they are the same. i also tried switching the clips 5 and 6 while the car was running and injector 6 was still not injecting. i thought that it...
i check for power at the clips, but didnt not check for ground. i will check in the morning.
DMM??? yes i have a headlight bulb laying around. what should i do connect it to?
i rewired the injectors with brand new clips and soldered the connections to answer the other guys question.

i went with a dual filter relocation and use a wix conventional filter and a trasko filter to keep everything clean. with this system, you dont have to change the oil as often... all you have to do is change the filter material. before i went with this system, i would change my oil every 6000...
ok its not the ignitor...
does anyone in the north jersey area have a spare pre89 ecu (yellow plug) with manual transmission that i can borrow to see if mine is no good?
thanks guys

i rewired the injector clips and they are new. they get 12 volts with the key in the on position. injectors were sent to rc to get inspected, clean and flowmatched. i tested them and they are all within spec.
i believe they arent getting the signal to inject fuel since injectors 1 and 6 are...
coils resistance check out ok. i didnt check out if its getting voltage... ill check tonight. but i didnt think the coil is responsible for powering the injector itself. the spark plug is getting spark. its just that the injector is not pulsing when the car is running.

just finished my build and ive been having problems with a rough idle and its missing. didnt think it would be my injectors (RC 550) since i just got them back from getting clean and flow tested. turns out that 1 and 6 arent firing.
been searching and havent come up with any results.
so far...
well the injector wiring is fine. everything tests out ok.... injectors, clips, coils, injector resistor pack, etc.
could it be the ignitor? im testing that now but what exactly controls the firing of the injectors?
