Close; but, no. The one I saw had only three vents on it. Maybe like the one GC89 is referring to. I'll search for a pic and also browse Shine's website.
EDIT: As I look closer, that one only has three. Maybe that is it!
That's just plain awesome Fred! I would love to watch you smoke some youngin and see the look on his face afterwards! It's even more gratifying when they have their girlfriend in the car! ;)
You should start a build thread! Especially since you and I have the same cars! I'd love to see...
Here's just one example:
I bought my car from a guy who had the same shop service his car for about 10 years. He had them do EVERYTHING and he kept meticulous records of every transaction.
After I got the car home, I started going through every receipt in detail. I found a receipt from...
I didn't think about the CPS...
I think I'll check valve clearances and cam gear caps first. I need to replace the valve cover gaskets anyway. :)
I'm sure I'll have more quesitons when I have more findings.
Thanks again everyone!
Ok everyone. I went out and shorted each plug to ground using a 12v tester and the sound did not go away. Two of them caused a different sound; but, the main noise in question never did go away.
So, with that info, what is the general guess. Valve train or rod knock?
Yeah, thanks Supracentral!
I ordered two kits. One for my PowerStroke Diesel and one for my Supra!
What I'll try to go outside and do here in the next little bit is short each plug wire at the coil pack and see if the sound goes away. I'm hoping that it won't!!!
Thanks Matt! I'll try one of SupraCentral suggestions today after work.
Dumbo: I'll try that too depending on what I find today.
I wouldn't be surprised if it is a rod knock especially after repairing a BHG. It's been about 2k miles since the BHG...
Thanks guys!
I know!!! I keep looking; but, can't seem to find the one I want. I've seen it on other supra's; but, can't find anyone selling it.
The search goes on... :(
I may be a little paranoid here because I've already been through a rod knock and just went through a BHG; but, tonight there is a new engine noise.
I can only hear it once the car is at operating temp. Not at first start up. It is evident during 'in-gear' decels; but, not so much during...
About me:
My name is Kenny Nichols and I am a full-blooded cajun. You've heard that song "Born on the Bayou"? Well, that's me! I was born on Bayou Bienvenue in Louisiana. I moved to Washington when I was 17 for college and stayed ever since.
I was born and raised around racing. My...
I don't know... I've seen old ladies do this also. I think it's like once you can order for the Sernior Citizen's menu you automitacally start taking the hole shot at every light.
But yeah, I plan on going out in a ball of flames. Either in my supra or by lighting a fart in the bra section...
I'm at the light the other day and when it turns green, this Chrysler Dynasty takes a hole shot. Screeching tires and all! Then it slows down once it hits the speed limit. I get up next to and look over and it's this old...ok...elderly gentlman gripping the wheel with both hands at 10 and 2...
I'll try that.
On each line going to both the gauge and the EBC Map sensor there is what I thought were just filters. Do these filters double as a filter and a restrictor?
Thanks IJ!
