Rattling sound under engine RPM increase, any ideas?

I may be wrong as well but I take it to mean that 10w-30 is good for 0°F+ However you should pick the one located in your temperature range so that you receive the best possible protection.

    car dies!

I assume that iono = I don't know. But, no, you’re not the only one. I had to read it a few time before I felt confident enough in what he said, so that I could respond.

    car dies!

I checked the TSRM and there doesn’t seem to be any differences between the throttle bodies on the manual cars, and the throttle bodies on automatic cars. There’s a difference in the linkages, but not the throttle bodies themselves. The only time there is a difference, is between the 7M-GE and...

    car dies!

Also you might wanna make sure your HKS BOV is adjusted right. The same thing can happen if it's not. But, yeah check the vacume hose layout in the FAQ section, to make sure every thing is hooked up right.

I think it looks pretty good. I'd still have to see it on a vehical, but I like it.

Rattling sound under engine RPM increase, any ideas?

I really hope your right. In my case however, you could barely hear the noise over the injectors when it first started. Even with my *electronic ears you couldn't tell it was rod knock until you put the microphone on the block next to the bearing that had failed. And it would only make this...

Rattling sound under engine RPM increase, any ideas?

I'm willing to bet you have the early signs of rod knock. That would be the correct RPM range for it to be heard at. And I'm also willing to bet the sound returns as the viscosity of your newer oil breaks down. And as the oil breaks down it becomes more fluid and doesn’t build up pressure...

    EGT pre-turbo vs. post-turbo -- a direct comparison

Could also be that under certain situations your other cylinders are running hotter than your #6, thus contributing to your higher post-turbo EGT's. Don't really know but it's a thought. But I'm glad somebody put up some hard evidence about this.

You know you're a Supra owner when...

I just tell people, it's THAT Supras BIG brother. I usually get a diffrent reaction than the typical disappointed "oh" You know your a supra owner when you regard a BHG with the same attention as routine maintenance on your car and not a major engine disaster.

    Which 1 ... ?

It's hard for me to comment on the other cars because I don't have them. For 1/4 times I'm not sure on the weight of the 300zx,but the Supra, and the R32 are tanks. The 300zx, from what I hear is a pain to work on because of the small engine compartment. Plus it's auto, what fun is that :). The...

    where is my fuel filter!!

And every thing works in theory right! :biglaugh: (spoken in complete sarcasm) In seriousness though your completely right. I probably should have mentioned it in my earlier post. These filters can clog. I think the point that I should have made, was that these filters don't NEED to be part of...

    where is my fuel filter!!

Yeah, and it's a pain in the ass to get at. Toyota did that on purpose because it's supposed to be a lifetime part(good for the life of you vehicle). And people kept trying to change them periodically, like they do with domestic vehicles, which was unnecessary. So Toyota made them difficult to...

    7m-gte problems?

I was actually surprised at how few vacuum hoses the MKIII 7mgte has, especially for the technology it has on it. Even the 7mge has way more vacuum hoses. You want to talk about to many vacuum hoses. I'm working on a 1987 Ford F250 right now. That thing has an insane amount of vacuum hoses. It...

does it irritate anyone else when people use improper grammar?

Though I can't say much in the way of grammar and spelling, because I'm really poor at it. If it wasn't for the wonder that is Word, and that nifty little edit button, most of you would never be able to decipher my posts. Don't even get me started on how bad I am at using there and their...

Didn't know whether to take this seriously or laugh

Yeah his primary problem isn't fuel cut, It's just one of his problems that happens occasionally. As you know, hitting fuel cut early is a good sign of a boost leak. Which is a probable but not positive cause of his problems. He was asking about code 34 and we related that to fuel cut and that’s...

    How much boost?

Agreed. The stock exhaust, especially if it has the orignal cat's can cause quite a restriction. If you raise the boost with out removing the restriction a large amount heat can be trapt in the engine bay possibly causing damage to various parts. Take your time and upgrade your supra the right...
