sorry to hear that, lemme hear what happens in a few weeks/months, however long it takes.
dont worry. after this is all over all youll have to worry about is every other little part breaking. welcome to the expensive world of the mk3
k, handbrake is pretty bad right now. im guessin the pads are on their way out, with less than 1/8 inch remaining. had to adjust it from 15 clicks down to 10 just to get the thing to grab. time for a new set?
maybe mazda did this because they've been owned by ford for a while. just a guess, but that might give an import engine a bit of a domestic taste. true, its still an 88 jdm, but ford probably owned it and the warehouse it came from and from then on it acted inside domestic shipment parameters.
noticed this a few weeks ago, and im starting to wonder just what the hell it could be. driving pretty slow (0-20 mph) im able to hear it really well with the windows down. the noise:

the lsd does put more power to the ground though, if one wheel starts slipping
the caliper bolts are pretty f'ing hard to get off. i had to do fair amount of huffing and puffing and cussing.
as for tricks, make sure youve got some anti-seize to put on the caliper slide bolts. as for bleeding the brakes, have a partner push the pedal while you bleed the right rear...
