TIG is fun as hell. In welding shop class I was one of only two students that could do a decent job with that machine. Even the shop teahcer didn't know how to do it but because we wanted to learn they brought a guy out from one of the local mines to teach us.
I've wondered this as well. But I think the ECU might have a few questions when it sees 15psi above atmospheric pressure.
ECU- "I'm reading a lot of airflow, what’s the pressure HAC?"
HAC- "26.7psi"
ECU- "WTF mate?!?! Where is this guy driving???... the bottom of the ocean?!?"
To put it simply the AFM only measures the rate that the air is passing through it. But it doesn’t measure density (pressure in our case), that is left up to a separate sensor.
So let’s say for argument that you have air moving at 1mph through the AFM.

getting abet off topic aren’t we........
I've been wanting to see this movie as well as get a hold of the book. It's got my curiosity. But being in Themiddleofnowhere Colorado, I still haven’t had the chance to do so.
Weather I agree with it or not, I still find it interesting to see how other cultures see our situation, and hear their ideas on how we should have handled this situation. Maybe I'm a bit more open minded than others. Being here in America we have a very specific view how things did and should...
I greatly enjoy this forum because there seems to be a certain level of maturity and civility, unlike certain other forums *coughSFcough*. This makes browsing and posting more enjoyable. If someone calls me a name, am I going to go crying to mommy, no. But I have no intention of engaging in a...
Nick M: I'm staying in Craig, Colorado. It's the northwest corner of the state.
IJ : It will defiantly be plastigauged.
GrimJack: You have a good point. I guess I'll go down tomorrow and tell them to just do the bearings.
Thanks everybody for the replies.
I came back to Colorado to visit some people and bring my supra back to California. However, she needed a little work before she's road worthy( repair the rod knock). So I dropped the crank off at NAPA to get it polished and ground, it's the only place within 250 miles that can do the work, it...
Yes, there were various sizes. There were TEMS controllers for our cars that fit in the stock location. Then there were smaller ones. Both of them work in our Supra’s but one of them is smaller and needs a custom mount.
The TSRM stats the following pressures when doing a compression check
Optimum pressure of 156psi or more
Minimum Pressure of 128psi
Maximum variance 14psi
Sounds like you fuel cut problem could be a boost leak.
It's because the engine will occasionally stall. They need a software update, and water proofing grease on some of the electrical connections. No big deal. Nobody has been hurt yet because all the cars it happened to pulled to the side of the road under electrical power.
Why does everybody call it a trunk on our car? Hatchbacks do not have trunks. A trunk is an enclosed area separate from the cabin used to store cargo. Our storage area is hardly separate from the cabin. On the early cars a trunk was actually a large wooden box with handles and a lock and could...
