I see IJ finally got new jackstands :D
Anyway, I have a tranny jack and will be using it to remove my subframes when I do them... I may disassemble my suspension first as the weight of the car will be easy to work against if any of the fasteners are stuck...
I also use rubber pads on my...
WD-40
WD stands for "Water Dispersing" and it does just that, but you're gonna need a lot of it...
Personally, I'd kill my bro, and then pull the engine and tear it mostly down so i can get to everything to clean out the water with WD-40 at the very least, full engine rebuild at the most...
/facepalm
Aluminum is fine for race cars or when you have the computers to design a part that won't fail.
Aluminum work hardens. Read about aluminum piston connecting rods...
Jack on the pan, it's very strong and will easily lift the front of the car off the ground.
Definately use wood to spread out the load on the pan though...
It would spool, but a huge ass wheel in a small housing = TRUE compressor surge that will EAT the turbo.
You'd also have to find someone crazy enough to actually perform the upgrade (have fun with that).
The stock guage IS accurate, it's just dampened (easy to remove and make it as fast as any other electronic boost guage, and you can also change the scale of it so it shows more boost)
Yes.
ECU advances timing until it detects knock, and then backs down.
This happens on the fly.
It's why if you have that code you'll be down on power as it pulls timing in order to protect the engine from detonation.
