When a thread is deleted, people get pissed off about where their thread went, and so on. Plus sometimes people like to go back and read what was posted. Often a thread will start out with good information, etc, and then go bad. Why delete a thread with good information when you can simply stop...
Forget about value of the car IMO, do what you think you like best.
I plan on keeping the Supra for a long time anyways, probably past when they're down to about $100, lol.
Depends on the colour of the car.
I know a guy with a Silvia convertable that is red with a black engine bay, it looks really, really good. I'd take it that way over a red engine bay any day....
I'll see if I can find pics.
If anything though, either black or vehicle colour.
Here's a pic...
86.5-89 Supras have the 6M crank
89-92 Supras have the 7M crank
There are no power differences, the only noticable differences would be the 6M is slightly more rev-happy. The 6M-equipped 7M's had a higher rev-limit, but that's ECU limited, and changing your crank would do nothing without...
Most cars I've seen have the coin holder, but some older ones just had a flate plate in there.
ABS and TEMS were never a part of the same package. TEMS was a part of the "Sport Package," ABS was an independant option.
Call it whatever you like. :p
I'm a Toyota man, and Toyota calls it an ignition lock, and it's part of the locking system IMO, :p
If you went to Toyota to order one, they'd know what you're talking about more easily if you called it an ignition lock, I think. Oh well, :p
Hydraulic fluid pushes the piston on the inside towards the rotor, this causes pressure on the inside pad, because the caliper is on 2 sliders, it is also pulling on the other side, causing pressure on the outside pad, pretty evenly I might add, unless the sliders are gunked up. :)
The lock is the actual part the key is inserted into.
You can replace it yourself, just pick up a used one, or even a new one. It's about $70 at the dealer for a new one.
The Supra has no such key-retention system, I have a feeling the time it came out after you pulled the EFI fuse was simply a fluke. There's nothing electronic related to the key being stuck in place. It sounds like your ignition lock is buggered. May need to replace it.
Correction:
If you look on the firewall of all turbo cars with an MA71 VIN, the firewall chasis stamp will say MA70.
Toyota starts all Chassis codes from 000000. If there were any with MA71 chassis codes, (which some people apparently have seen at some point, but nobody can ever prove...
Mostly sound.
A good aftermarket exhaust system will be tuned to cancel out resonations caused by the engines, and will have a resonator as well as a muffler.
Most custom exhaust setups don't use a resonator, and end up causing spots in the RPM range with a lot of resonating frequencies...
