Where to get a 1988 wireing diagram?

The TSRM is quite a bit more, but I've never heard of paying $100 for the EWD!

I believe his avatar is from Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, not Snatch, but either way, both are great.

    Best Way to Adjust TPS

I've found that it's best to have 2 people when adjusting with an ohmmeter than can't clip onto the TPS terminals.

bill nye seaons on dvd, who's with me?

My dad had a 1986 Supra MK2, black on black/grey 5-speed P-type when I was 10, I loved that car so much. He got it when I was 5 I think. He had a bunch of 75-77 Celicas before that too :) (Fastbacks). Being 10 was definitely fun ;).

    Best Way to Adjust TPS

Not sure which Toyota dealer you went to, but they should have the service manual for your specific year on hand, and that should be the way they set it, at least, that's the way dealers here do it. Turning the TPS and watching the timing, etc, can be done, but it is not as accurate as going...

    Best Way to Adjust TPS

I always thought the TSRM was pretty clear and haven't had any problems setting TPS's. BTW: I DID GET THE MEMO, YOU DON'T NEED TO SEND IT AGAIN! BAH!

    witch is better tranny?

N/A and Turbo diffs are the same. (Different ratio only). Running a W58 on a JZ is easier and cheaper than an R154, because with the R154, you need the 1JZ bellhousing and a 1JZ flywheel, neither of which were sold in North America on a car from Toyota, meaning, aftermarket or buying new, or...

now i can see my supra at all times (56k sorry)

YourHondaSux, in regards to your sig, most Hondas could strip the lug nuts right off your car, in fact, I bet my 86 Corolla which is stock probably could too... :-p Still funny I guess ;). It's all about gearing, my Corolla only makes 100 ft-lbs at 4800rpms, but with the gearing, that's...

    No Speedometer

Fix the speedometer cable, the number 1 speed sensor is inside the speedometer, being driven by the speedometer cable, without the speedometer working, voila, your problem. :).

    Differential

Yup, but he said out of a MKII, which may have been a typo, but I don't think it was, and if it wasn't, then it is a clutch-pack LSD, also, JZA70's had clutch-pack 4.10's in non TwinTurbo-R models.
  13. Jeff Lange

    Differential

Yes you can ;) If you look on an 89-92 car ;). 86-88's had it on the firewall, 89-92's had it in the door jam :D

    Widebody Civic madness on ebay...

If you look at the body work done on the car though, those guys did some nice work, that entire thing is metal, not some crap job done with fibreglass, etc. Sure it looks completely ugly, etc, but the work done to create such a monstrocity was done nicely IMO.

    Differential

He has a 1JZ, not a 7M-GE... I didn't include the LSD in the descriptions because all Turbos have LSD, I only included it for N/A's because some do and some don't. What the deuce?! LOL, I'm going to assume that was a typo! :p
  16. Jeff Lange

    Differential

I'm gonna have to post a big WTF for that post Ideal. The 87-88 Turbos had the 3.91:1, the 89-92 Turbos had 3.73:1. All N/A's had 4.30:1, and JZA70's had 4.10:1. There was never a 3.93 in a Supra, you had the years reversed, and definitely all Supras have a differential, lol!!! I'm assuming...
