Never heard of a different size bolt or banjo fitting. Have you got a set of calipers? Measure and post the bolt size outer diameter and the banjo fitting inner diameter.

I've never bothered to change the pilot bearing. It was obviously still ok the last time I dropped the tranny, and it's a PITA to deal with, so why bother? Extra grease back there isn't going to hurt anything... is there any play in it? Is it rough when you turn it?

It's not that hard to find... look down the exhaust side of the engine, right at the back near the firewall. There is a coolant pipe that wraps around the back of the engine, at about the level of the head / block junction, this pipe has a T in it and one end of the T is the rubber cap...

That's the exception that proves the rule. :) On the note of the 944 - I have yet to see one that wasn't a moneypit. I mean like real estate level moneypit.
