    found this!

I have a one piece, and mine is a PITA to remove. However, mine goes from the throttle body all the way through the headlight hole - the first coupler isn't until well below the headlight. It's an even bigger PITA to get back on! I've seriously considered getting it cut in the middle and...

    HID installation problem. HELP

What year is your car? Can you turn on the foglights independently of the headlights? If your foglights are tied into your headlights, then you need to do the SOGI foglight rewire.

    tattoo question

Bah. Go ahead, put anything you want in your skin. It's easy to take off, I've done it lots of times to my drunken buddies, just wait until they pass out and get out the belt sander. This works too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cbcvrF76ig&feature=related

What's a good setup I can have without having to add an amp?

This is complicated. The idea with a stereo is to reproduce the sound of listening to a live performance, as in, there is a group of musicians playing directly in front of you on a stage, so, higher than you are. As most cars don't mount single speakers in the center of the windshield, this is...

Is there an ACC wire that doesn't shut off during start?

Done, and working perfectly now. My warmest thanks to everyone who contributed. Next time you're going to be on the west coast of Canada, let me know and I'll buy you dinner - or if it's midsummer, perhaps just sit you in the back yard and fill you full of BBQ and Canadian beer. :) Cheers all!

Is there an ACC wire that doesn't shut off during start?

I thought the color was odd, but I figured the location was more important! Off to do some soldering...

Is there an ACC wire that doesn't shut off during start?

Another thing I've noticed. The '90 wiring diagram has 24 connections on this plug, and mine has 22. I didn't think there were more than 2 different plug configurations for the ECUs over the years. Either the wiring diagram in the 90 TSRM is incorrect or there are a few more ECU...

Is there an ACC wire that doesn't shut off during start?

Well, some more results. +B at the diag block has 12v with the ignition on. And here's a pic of the wire I *think* is +B1 at the ECU. It's the one that has a pink wire spliced into it and the red alligator clamp on it.

    NYC or LA?

Would you rather be too cold in winter, or too hot in summer? I'd pick LA, the girls wear less clothing on average. :D

Is there an ACC wire that doesn't shut off during start?

Well, the only wiring diagram I have is for the 1990 model, and mine is a 1989. I've definitely tapped the wire on the far corner, though, and according to my diagram Batt is one in from the corner... The two end wires are marked as IG SW and +B1. I didn't check B with the ignition on, and...

Is there an ACC wire that doesn't shut off during start?

So, B+ in the engine bay at the diag plug doesn't have 12v. This is odd. I'm wondering how I could have a short that would jump from power lead to power lead. Or if I'm smoking crack on what wire I've tapped at the ECU. I'll take a photo tomorrow, post it here and see if anyone thinks I'm...

resuming 7MGTE swap after 12 months and a move... now questions

Well, just checked my car, and that connector, as well as another smaller one, isn't connected to anything on mine. My ABS works, so it can't be that. I suspect that the other smaller one that isn't connected on mine is for the TEMS, because it's in about the right place and I don't have that...

Is there an ACC wire that doesn't shut off during start?

You probably have the power wired up differently in yours - or your B1 wire at the ECU behaves properly. This is a bit of a story, so sit back and relax. Originally I had it wired to B1, but the MAFT Pro was on all the time. I didn't like that much, so I wired it to an ACC line. As soon as I...

Is there an ACC wire that doesn't shut off during start?

I'll check the diag block when I get home tonight.

The mystery plug - could that be the cruise control?

Is there an ACC wire that doesn't shut off during start?

That's odd. I just checked mine, and B1 is always on. This is where I had my MAFT wired in previously, and I didn't like the idea that it was always powered on. Makes me wonder what has been done to my wiring prior to me owning it! Tapping into IG1 / 2 is dead simple for me, both of them are...

7M-GTE Engine removal in 49 easy steps - questions

Bleeding it is easy, just fill it up, jack up the front, start the car, and move the steering back and forth from lock to lock. Keep adding fluid. Continue doing so until it doesn't look foamy in the resevoir anymore and the level is where it should be.
