    Exhaust Tick

Exhaust is leaking from a single runner on the header. The tick sound is actually the exploding exhaust gas firing out of the crack. This is pretty common, although it's usually caused by loose head to manifold bolts or a blown EGR cooler gasket on the back of the head rather than a crack in...

    Profiling Machiner/Builder

Ask to see the shop, and some samples of their work. Shady shops are usually unwilling to show you around. Tell them what you want to achieve with the motor, and ask what they recommend in the way of work, and what kind of clearances they suggest. Get a list and an estimate, then post it up...

    7m vs. 1j

I rarely post in locked threads, but in this case I'll make an exception. There are 3 methods of starting a flame war on SM, 2 of them work pretty much universally. 1. Start a thread on religion, and why one is better. 2. Start a thread on political parties, and why one is better. 3. Start a...

Whos gonna be watching Knight Rider tonight?

The best part was the bit at the very end, where he's dropping out of the back of the mobile garage, just like they used to do in the TV show... only it's not a Semi this time! :D

Whos gonna be watching Knight Rider tonight?

The Hoff made a surprise appearance. It wasn't bad... my only real complaint is that they stretched out about 45 minutes of footage with 75 minutes of advertising to make a 2 hour show.

Found these subs in my basement, any good?

Oh my... yes, those are nice equipment. Old school Rockford Fosgate Punch series. Careful you don't shatter the glass with those.

    removing accordian hose from turbo?

There are two kinds of people who run open turbo. Show cars, that don't really run. And people who don't know any better or don't care, and will need a new turbo (and likely engine) in short order after something flies in that would normally be stopped by the air filter.

Whos gonna be watching Knight Rider tonight?

I'll TIVO it. I mean, why not? If they can turn Battlestar into something serious, maybe they'll do the same with KITT.

For reference, here's the same thing with a stocker and a 60-1.

    60-1 reliability issues?

There is a reason people have NFI about fixing a 60-1. Virtually nobody bothers to fix it when they break, they just move on to a different turbo. When my 60-1 got death whine before my first oil change, I took it off, put it on the shelf, and bought a new Turbonetics unit. I still have the...

    60-1 reliability issues?

I'll jump on the 57 trim bandwagon, because I didn't have much luck with a 60-1. Made it about 2000 miles.

Boil the accordion hose in water first, then fight with it a lot.

Why does everyone underestimate the MKIII?

I've run into lots of people like that. I take them for a ride in mine. If that doesn't make them cry, I send them to Duane. Duane needs to start stocking Dipends for his passenger. :D

    Is this assumption correct?

I don't think so, mine is less than that at WOT, although not by much, and lower than that at idle, too. Try the method of setting it where the code 51 stops and see if the idle fixes itself, I'm willing to bet it will.

    Toyota Camry??

If you want a family vehicle, buy a minivan. You can't beat them for carrying capacity, that's for sure, and they actually drive pretty well, too.
