You got a pic of that, I would like to see that. There is more room on the head then the block. You need to cut a groove in both the head and the block. Sure would be tough to fit two grooves between adjacent holes.
Yes, shell gaming the caps around is a no no. If they where installed wrong, then heavy scoring could have happend. Each cap needs to be in its original position.
I have never seen a 7m with an o-ringed block, I am not sure there would be room to do it between cylinders. Even if you did manage to fit a groove in there, no metal headgasket out there will accomidate an o-ring. You would prob. have to use a composite headgasket and trim it in the area of the...
I did not say that too much clamping force is the killer. I said over powering your clamping force is. That means too much power from the motor overcoming the holding capacity of the clutch pack (clamp force). :3d_frown:
Nearly the same, the compression would be in the set of custom CP pistons. Even without a stroker kit, you can always get a set of custom made pistons for your NA in any compression ratio you want.
300 hp is a safe number for the stock tranny with cooling help. Heat is not the biggest killer, overpowering your clamping force on the cluch pack, causing them to slip, is the big killer when going over 350 hp on a stock tranny.
Yes, that can be done. Samething as adding stroke, just that I would weld the upside instead of the downside. You could still use the stock style rods, just would have to use custom pistons with a taller dome or move the pin down.
I am waiting to finish this crank to see how much time I have in it before releasing a final price, but ball park, the crank and pistons, pins, and rings will be 2200 to 2400.00
I am also going to offer the bearings, main studs, and anything else needed for a bottom end as an add on package...
The only pistons that you mill the top of, are pistons that are sold new with unfinished domes. No one makes unfinished dome pistons for the 7m. Pistons like that are sold to expert engine shops that will machine their own dome profile. It is possible to do this to the 7m piston, but they would...
Ha Ha, yeah I knew what you meant. Later I am going to do a Billet steel crank from 5160. These will be set at any stroke anyone would ever want right from the start. You still have that maroon 88 supra?
Hey Dave, I was talking to you on Supraforums about the BBQ and camping at tx2k7, and killing some mk4's with our Harleys...
Parts will be ready Very very soon. Takes forever to weld and grind these cranks. Your crank or one of mine, I can make these all different sizes. Few weeks maybe.
This crank can use any rods made for the stock assembly, it is the pistons that will be changed. I will be having custom cp pistons made with the pin moved up. So yes, you can use your pauter rods.
Yes, this crank will make a stock bore motor a 3150cc, but the pistons I am making will be 1mm...
