yeah in the cold damn near any vehicle is screwed....doesn't matter forged or not...just keep that oil warm so it can reach critical parts asap....what causes failure with cold is oil gets so damn thick that the pump can't move it fast enough to lube everything....
What you heard has some...
that could be an issue in any engine!!!
I'm Canadian and lived most of my life in Alberta (red deer, drayton valley)
Forged internals isn't going to change much to be considered an issue more so then cast internals....there are a few cars that came off the line with forged internals anyway...
How much do you want to spend????
Your options are limitless but alot of stuff isn't needed but cost a fortune...
Basics would be:
Bore cylinders if needed...or if not then a nice hone job to clean them up
hot tank and magnaflux to inspect for cracks
new bearings
new turbo oil pump...
thats why you blast in a cabnet...and most good cabnets have vacume filter set up to pull the dust out...
Sounds to me like you used the wrong media or gun.....ive never seen a tarnish or rust that couldnt be pulled with a bead blaster....and considering I'm a machinist I would say I have...
well jesus...looks like that also happend then....cause i double checked and its the rear section only that the ujoints arent lined up...and there is some shine on the inner edge of the outer tube as if some rubbing was takeing place lol.....so my tail houseing bearing was shot, my center...
ij...call me crazy but on the drive shaft assembly I have right here non of the u-joints line up exact with eachother....every single one is shifted ever so slightly....so unless the welds snaped in both portions of the driveshaft I don't think this is the problem.
I'll take pics of my old...
oh and driveline simply means everything from the transmission back as far as parts involved in turning rear wheels...
I damn near replaced everything but the differential...you probably won't need this but I figured I'd go balls out sense I had to drop the trans anyway...
If you need more...
cracks knuckles....
Get under the car and grab the
driveshaft right near the center support bearing and shake the hell out of it.....if it moves alot then thats your problem...
If it doesn't move...grab the drive shaft right where it meets the transmission....shake itside to side...if it...
What about bilsteen with drop springs also....will the bilsteen be able to give even more adjustability then the drop spring alone?
I also need as much info on this....I'm in the same boat as you.
The way I look at it...a cheaper macco job will have your car looking presentable....and it sure as he'll is better then a rust job lol...I hate budgets!!!
